Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan on Wednesday received Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia, Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.

First, Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the EU for the active support provided to the ongoing reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and subordinate services.

Ambassador Maragos, for his part, emphasized their effective cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia, and noted that the EU is ready to continue and expand support for the aforesaid reform process.

Subsequently, the parties discussed the progress of the reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia and subordinate services, the results achieved, and new steps being planned jointly.

The EU ambassador lauded the joint work carried out with the first assessment mission on visa liberalization, both in terms of organization and content. The actions to be taken ahead of the second assessment mission were also outlined.

At the end of the meeting, the parties outlined further directions of cooperation and next courses of actions aimed at continuing the effective implementation of reforms.
