Ukraine has invited European leaders to a summit on May 9 in retaliation for the Victory Day parade in Moscow. But instead, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will travel to Nancy on that day to sign a security treaty with President Emmanuel Macron, the Politico business daily has said.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is scheduled to attend a defense summit in Oslo on the same day, the media outlet notes.

But EU foreign ministers may still go to Lviv on May 9 after an informal meeting on May 8 in Warsaw, the media outlet quoted its source as saying.

Meanwhile, new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz plans to visit Paris in the morning of May 7 and Warsaw in the afternoon. According to the source, the trip to Brussels is likely to take place on May 9.
