On May 5, the International Court of Justice (ICC) will rule on the provisional measures against the UAE in Sudan's application, which accuses Abu Dhabi of violating the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, the ICC said in a press release.

Sudan had filed an application with the ICC in March, accusing the UAE of violating its obligations under the aforesaid convention towards the Masalit group in Sudan, most notably in West Darfur.

The application was accompanied by a request for the indication of provisional measures against the UAE.

Khartoum has accused Abu Dhabi of supporting Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which are involved in clashes against the Sudanese army.

Public hearings on Sudan’s request were held on April 10, and the ICC decision will be made on May 5 at 3pm local time.
