Kyiv and Washington have signed an agreement to establish the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, the US Treasury Department informs.

A respective press release posted on the US Treasury website states that this agreement was signed “in recognition of the significant financial and material support that the people of the United States have provided to the defense of Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion.”

“This economic partnership positions our two countries to work collaboratively and invest together to ensure that our mutual assets, talents, and capabilities can accelerate Ukraine’s economic recovery,” the US Treasury Department added.

Also, it noted that the parties will work “to finalize program governance and advance this important partnership.”

“As the [US] President has said, the United States is committed to helping facilitate the end of this cruel and senseless war,” said UU Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent. “This agreement signals clearly to Russia that the Trump Administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term.”

The signing of this document was reported also by Ukrainian economy minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who is in Washington.

“Together with US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant, I signed an agreement to establish a US-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund. Thank you Presidents for your leadership. Thanks to everyone who worked for the agreement, making it more meaningful. Now the document is such that can provide success for both our countries,” Svyrydenko wrote on Facebook.

She added that this agreement shall be ratified by the Verkhovna Rada (parliament) of Ukraine.
