US President Donald Trump, commenting on the signing of an agreement with Ukraine on mineral extraction, said that he hopes to get more from this deal than the $350 billion spent by the previous American administration to assist Kyiv.

"We have concluded a deal, thanks to which, theoretically, we receive much more than $350 billion," the US president told News Nation, adding that this was the amount that his predecessor Joe Biden had given to Ukraine.

Asked about the content of his talk with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the Vatican, Trump said he told him that it would be very good if they could make a deal and he sign it.

Also, the American leader answered positively to the question of whether the US presence in Ukraine could hinder Russia's advancement in the region.

In turn, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that this agreement will give the US preferential access to projects related to Ukrainian natural resources. This, among other things, includes oil, natural gas, graphite, and aluminum.
