U.S. President Donald Trump said tariffs on Chinese imports could go down, telling reporters that “you can't raise” the 145% rate, NBC News reported.
“Well, it could be. I mean, we'll see. Right now you can't go higher. The index is at 145. So we know it's going to go down,” he said.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer plan to meet with their Chinese counterparts in Geneva this weekend.
