French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed hope that US President Donald Trump's displeasure with Russia's actions will turn into action and Washington will impose large-scale sanctions on Russia. Macron told reporters during a visit to Vietnam. 

“All I want now is for him to move to action,” BFM TV quoted his statement as saying.

Macron recalled that in the past, Trump has also repeatedly expressed regret and condemned Russian strikes on Ukraine. He noted that France shares the outrage of the American president.

On May 26, Trump said that he was “absolutely” considering imposing sanctions against Russia after massive Russian strikes on facilities in Ukraine. The American head expressed dissatisfaction with the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He pointed out that the parties are negotiating, while at the same time Ukrainian cities are being bombarded with missiles.

The Russian leader's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on Trump's statement, pointed out that Putin makes decisions that are necessary to ensure Russia's security. The Kremlin spokesman explained Trump's criticism by emotional overload.
