The Group of Seven (G7) nations expressed support for Israel in a statement issued late on Monday, with the G7 leaders urging broader de-escalation of hostilities in the region, Reuters reports.
"We reiterate our support for the security of Israel. (…). We urge that the resolution of the Iranian crisis leads to a broader de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza," the G7 statement said, in particular.
Also, it stressed the importance of protecting civilians.
On June 13, Israel attacked Iran, which was followed by retaliatory measures. Military actions between the two countries are continuing.
