Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports granting permission to build illegal Israeli farming settlements in the West Bank, some of which serve as shelters for extremist young Israeli residents living in the hills who regularly carry out attacks on neighboring Palestinians, according to Israeli media.

As per the reports, the Israeli prime minister has also called for launching “educational measures” to reduce violence among these hill-dwelling youth.

Netanyahu’s position was outlined in a document obtained by the Ynet. This document recapped last month’s discussion on combating the violence carried out by “Hill Youth.” That discussion took place as violence by local residents had spread throughout the area.

Ynet reports that, according to the document, in the section titled “Prime Minister’s Summary,” the aforesaid farms receive “a positive response, which is necessary for the protection of Area C,” the part of the West Bank that is under full Israeli control, and it is noted that they are “a response to Palestinian activeness in the area.”

The leaders of these Israeli settlements claim that Palestinians are illegally expanding their villages in Area C, while Palestinians say that Israel grants building permits in that area almost exclusively to Jewish residents.
