The Armenian government, at its Cabinet meeting Thursday, approved the ratification of the memorandum of understanding on the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses issued by the interior ministries of Armenia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The rationale for this decision notes that under this memorandum, each party recognizes the valid driving licenses issued by the other party to its citizens who arrive in one another’s countries for non-residential purposes.

And in the case of citizens arriving in one another’s countries for residential purposes, each party under this memorandum shall exempt the person applying for the exchange of the driving license issued by the other party from the related theoretical and practical tests.
