Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Maria Telalian, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.

During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the main domains of Armenia’s cooperation with ODIHR, and noted with satisfaction the effective collaboration achieved in strengthening democratic institutions and ensuring the rule of law in the country.

The discussion addressed electoral processes, too. In this connection, Mirzoyan emphasized that the Armenian government sees democracy as a continued source of resilience in the country and is therefore committed to conducting electoral processes in accordance with democratic standards. In this context, active cooperation with relevant international institutions, including ODIHR, was highlighted as important.

Also, the Armenian FM and the ODIHR director addressed hybrid threats, including mechanisms to effectively counter disinformation, and stressed their willingness to cooperate in this regard as well.

The meeting included an exchange of views on regional developments and humanitarian issues.
