A US-flagged boat entered Cuban waters and opened fire, the Cuban Ministry of the Interior announced.

“The illegal boat opened fire on the Cuban crew, injuring the captain of the Cuban vessel. As a result of the clash, four foreign attackers were killed and six were injured,” the statement said.

It was reported that the motorboat with the registration number FL7726SH was detected Wednesday morning approximately one nautical mile northeast of the El Pino Strait in the Cuban province of Villa Clara. Its advance into Cuban waters was stopped by five officers from the border patrol unit of the Cuban Ministry of the Interior.
