STEPANAKERT. – Considering the Azerbaijani side’s official statements and its complete absence of reason, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) armed forces were forced to undertake a special operation to find out the crew members’ fate at the crash site of the helicopter, which the adversary had shot down, and to resolve the ensuing matters.

The NKR Defense Army Media and Propaganda Department has informed the aforesaid in a statement.

As a result of carrying out this military task, the dead body of one helicopter crew member, the remains of two pilots, and some necessary parts of the chopper were removed from the crash site.

“During the special operation, two recruits of the adversary were rendered non-operational. There are no casualties from the Defense Army,” the statement reads.

The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire and shot down an NKR Air Force helicopter on November 12. The chopper was downed during a training flight, and it crashed very close to the Karabakh-Azerbaijan Line of Contact. As a result, three pilots were killed: the commander of the helicopter, Major Sergey Sahakyan, as well as Senior Lieutenant Sargis Nazaryan and Lieutenant Azat Sahakyan. The adversary, on the other hand, was firing intensive shots toward the crash site, thus, not allowing access to the area.
