The Armenian Genocide Memorial has appeared on the calendar of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

A photograph of the Armenian Genocide Memorial, which is located in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, also was depicted among the photographs on the April page of the Turkish MFA’s 2015 calendar entitled “Especially for Dardanelles,” T24.com of Turkey reported.

This photo received great resonance in the Turkish press, and it was labeled as a betrayal by the Turkish nationalists.

Even though Turkey has marked the Battle of Gallipoli (Dardanelles) victory anniversary on March 18 every year, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that this year it will be celebrated on April 24—that is, on the centenary of the Armenian Genocide. This decision, however, was strongly criticized both in Turkey and beyond its borders.
