Upon the offer of the Guardian Council of the Constitution, Supreme legislative body of Iran, 10% of random ballots was recounted, — Iranian state channel AL-Alyam informs.

However elections’ runner-up, the opposition candidate Mir Housein Mousavi rejected this offer, insisting on the final results of the elections to be declared invalid. Nonetheless, the partial re-count of June 12, 2009 presidential elections’ results is already started.

Unsatisfied with the election results, the opposition organized rallies in Tehran, that resulted in the clash between the opposition members and the police. The day before Iranian authorities arrested the UK embassy officials, suspected of the participation in situation destabilization. However, today five out of nine arrested officials were released, while four others are still under the examination.
