WASHINGTON, DC. – Several influential US congressmen and senators assembled on Capitol Hill to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, reported the Washington, DC. correspondent of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Speaking at the event, Congressional Armenian Caucus Co-Chairman Frank Pallone stated that there have been cases in US history when the genocide was recognized by the country’s presidents and the Congress.

Armenian Caucus Co-Chairman Robert Dold, for his part, recalled that the Armenian Genocide, which is the worst crime committed against humanity, has had a negative impact on the history of humanity.

Senator Jack Reed, in turn, pointed to the Armenians’ contribution to the US development.

And Senator Amy Klobuchar proposed to honor the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
