YEREVAN. – Famous singer Charles Aznavour arrived in Yerevan on Thursday evening and will give a concert on Saturday.

The 91-year-old singer believes it is important that Armenia will host the 31st meeting of the Ministerial Conference of the International Organisation of La Francophonie not being a French-speaking country.

“This is a step forward, an opportunity to get closer to the Francophonie states. I do not know about political impact, I know nothing about politics, but the friendly relations will definitely become closer,” Aznavour told Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent.

Commenting on the remark whether he is the best Armenia’s French-speaking ambassador in the world, Aznavour said: “Yes, I think it is so”.

The 31st meeting of the OIF Ministerial Conference will be convened on Saturday and Sunday in Yerevan.
