YEREVAN. – The new prime minister and the new government seem to have changed the logic of development of Armenia, Noravank Scientific Educational Foundation  Executive Director, political scientist Gagik Harutyunyan, said at a press conference on Monday.

In his words, fight against corruption in the country can get great impetus after the parliamentary election slated for next April, and this causes some optimism.

“I believe that replacing the previous PM with the new one can lead to certain changes in Armenia,” said Harutyunyan. “I have the impression that if the RPA [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia] wins the elections this time as well, there definitely will be reforms, since it’s hardly possible to go forward like this.”

The analyst added that the RPA possesses some potential for making these changes.
