Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio made a donation during the Children of Armenia Foundation (COAF) 13th Annual Holiday Gala, which was held recently in New York City.

The Hollywood actor donated $65 thousand to children living in Armenia’s rural communities, according to Arevelk (East) newspaper.

With this amount, DiCaprio purchased one of painter Joe Bradley’s works that was put up for auction at the event, and the proceeds were entirely given to the COAF.

A total of $3.1 million were collected through donations at this gala, and whereby the COAF will continue its projects in Armenia.

Earlier, renowned America comedian and filmmaker Tom Hanks had urged to support and make donations to this foundation.

The Children of Armenia Foundation 13th Annual Holiday Gala was hosted by famous American actress of Armenian descent, Andrea Martin.
