Rostov oblast (province) of Russia can boldly be called the branch of Armenia in Russia.

Director of the state organization Center of Export Support operating in Rostov Oblast, Yuri Shekaturin, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In his words, currently mainly agricultural products (vegetable oil, legumes) and technical equipment (welding sets, devices for tags and control over gas pressure in pipelines) are exported from Rostov Oblast to Armenia.  “We also get lots of goods from Armenia. Many people, especially in Armenia, know that our province is the branch of Armenia in the Russian Federation. We have very good historical, humanitarian and cultural relations. After Armenia joined the Eurasian Union, the relations improved even more. But it is yet difficult to say that this is a breakthrough for the simple reason that our relations outstood before as well, even against the backdrop of Armenian-Russian relations in general,” Shekaturin noted.
