As a result of April 2 parliamentary elections, a few MPs from Prosperous Armenia party will not have mandates in the newly elected parliament. According to preliminary calculations, those candidates are MPs Levon Khachatryan and Hrant Davtyan, who ran for the parliament by regional lists.

Among others, the former MPs Armen Avetisyan, Gurgenyan, Vahan Babayan, Rustam Gasparyan, Ruben Gevorgyan, Murad Guloyan, Karo Karapetyan,  Abraham Manukyan, and Vahagn Makhsudyan, who were either not involved  into the national list or haven’t passed, will not have the parliamentary mandates as well.

The former PAP members, Stepan Margaryan, Ms Vardanyan, Hayk Khachatryan, Vardan Oskanyan, Vahe Hovhannisyan, who switched to ORO party have also expired their seats for the new parliament.

According to initial reports, Tsarukyan’s party will receive 31 seats, 15 by national lists and 15 by regional, and 1 seat reserved for ethnic minorities. The CEC will submit the results of the elections on April 9.

As reported earlier, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia is in a considerable lead in the Armenian parliamentary elections of 2017, with 49.12 percent of votes tallied.

Free Democrats Party – 0.94% (14,746)

Armenian Revival Party – 3.71% (58,277)

Tsaurkyan Bloc – 27.32% (428,965)

Congress [Party]-PPA [People’s Party of Armenia] Bloc – 1.65% (25,975)

Republican Party of Armenia – 49.12% (771,247)

Communist Party of Armenia – 0.75% (11,745)

Ohanyan-Raffi - Oskanian Bloc – 2.7% (32,504)

Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party – 6.57% (103,173)

According to the CEC preliminary data, the voter turnout in the parliamentary election was 60.93 percent.
