YEREVAN.- The parliamentary factions have publicly declared their positions, that they are not going to nominate the prime minister’s candidacy or elect another prime minister, which means that there is mutual understanding on the issue of early parliamentary elections, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with President Armen Sarkissian.

According to the presidential press service, Pashinyan considered it mutual understanding that the political forces, having different points of view on this issue, stated that the elections should be held. In this context, he noted the importance of the permanent cnnection of the parliament, the government and the president for the transmission of information and so that the next 14 days are spent in an atmosphere of peace and in accordance with the expectations of the people.

According to Pashinyan, these two weeks are also important for ensuring an appropriate atmosphere during the election campaign, so that participants can ensure the competitiveness of programs and discussions.

President Sarkissian expressed confidence that the government uses all possible means to ensure that these 14 days and future elections are held in accordance with the letter of the law, as this follows from the interests of the people and the state. 

Nikol Pashinyan stressed that for him the words about democracy are not a slogan, but a political faith, for which they fought. 

According to him, the best place to confirm the values ​​of the revolution is the polling stations. “It just really should be guaranteed that the will of the people will be reflected in the election results. It is also a guarantee that the people of Armenia will always know that by means of elections it is possible to change mayors, elders, parliament, and the prime minister, ”Pashinyan assured.
