YEREVAN. – The main Christmas tree at Republic Square, the heart of Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, will be a completely new one this year.

At present, the new Christmas tree is being installed at the square.

A Russian company’s representatives, who have brought this Christmas tree, are coordinating the installation.

The representatives of this organization told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the new Christmas tree will be 35m high, which is 3m higher than the Christmas tree that was installed at Republic Square for the past seven years.

“We have brought the Christmas tree from Russia; the Armenian Government has ordered [it],” they said. “It will have bright lighting (…). There will be many toys [on it]. It will be very beautiful.”

The Russian company’s representatives added that this same Christmas tree is installed in several other places in the world, including in Russia.
