YEREVAN. – Divorces have sharply increased in Armenia.

According to the Statistical Committee data, as indicated by civil status registrations, a total of 15,214 marriages were registered in the country in 2017, and this is 6.6-percent less, as compared with 2016, whereas divorces increased by 8 percent and made up 3,940.

Also in 2017, the average age for men getting married in Armenia was 31.1, whereas that of women was 27.5, and the average age for first marriage was 29.9 and 26.6, respectively.
