Azerbaijani foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov stated about reaching mutual understanding at the meeting with Armenian acting foreign minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Milan.
“I consider that for the first time after a long period of time we managed to reach mutual understanding with my counterpart,” Mammadyarov stated at the reception for diplomats dedicated to summing up the passing year, Interfax reports.
He stressed that searching for peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict remains a priority for Azerbaijan.
“The chief goal is reaching a noticeable result. At the meeting with Zohrab Mnatsakanyan intended for January 2019 we will discuss peaceful settlement of the conflict,” he said, adding that Azerbaijan is for peaceful settlement.
