Zhoghovurd newspaper writes: “Zhoghovurd Daily has had the occasion to inform that the judges of the Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia had disputed the constitutionality of part 2 of Article 4 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia “On declaring amnesty for criminal cases on the occasion of the 2,800th anniversary of the establishment of Erebouni-Yerevan and of the 100th anniversary of the declaration of the First Republic of Armenia”.

The provision concerned the permission to apply amnesty in case of failure to compensate for the damage caused to the victim. In the past, in case of failure to compensate for the damage caused to the victim, applying amnesty was prohibited. Yesterday, it became clear that on 26 February, the Constitutional Court rejected the judges’ application, recognizing that law as constitutional.”
