Businessmen were anticipating this package of amendments to the Tax Code. This is what Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan told journalists on 18 March, responding to the question as to whether the package of amendments to the Tax Code submitted by the government is revolutionary or not.

“Businessmen were anticipating this Tax Code, and I am certain that this Tax Code will have a positive effect on the economy,” he stated.

According to Tigran Avinyan, the discussions on the package of amendments will now be held in parliament.

However, the Deputy Prime Minister is certain that the decision on the package of amendments to the Tax Code will be a consensus decision. “The package of amendments represents a long document with many details that the government has considered for a long time. I don’t rule out the fact that the discussion will continue in parliament, but I am certain that the decision will be a consensus decision,” he said.

However, it should be mentioned that the draft amendments to the Tax Code have sparked protests. In particular, the economist MPs of the My Step parliamentary faction of the National Assembly have also gone against certain provisions stated in the amendments.
