Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi dissmissed US Representative for Iran Brian Hook’s statement on sanctions, Tasnim reported.

“His unwise comments indicate his lack of correct understanding of the latest global developments as well as the US’ unstable, shaky and degraded position at the international level,” Qassemi said on Thursday.

Earlier, Hook said that the Trump’s administration had no intention to make exceptions in the sanctions for cooperation with Iran.

The US last year unilaterally withdrew from the Iran's nuclear deal and reimposed sanctions against Tehran.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the US goal is to reduce oil exports from Iran to zero. For a number of countries (China, India, Italy, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey), the US set exceptions until May, that is, pledged to a certain time not to impose sanctions against them for buying Iranian oil in certain quantities.
