The government is still holding talks on the natural gas tariffs with Gazprom Armenia CJSC. This is what acting Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia Garegin Baghramyan told journalists after the April 18 government session.

According to him, the government has already drafted some recommendations that it has to discuss with Gazprom Armenia, but he couldn’t say when.

“The talks are being delayed because we’re talking about intricate calculations. All the tariffs are being revised,” he said.

“I can promise you that if I receive the votes of the parliament and am elected chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, I’ll do everything I can to make sure the prices for utility bills are justified,” Baghramyan said.

When told that there are circles of Russians stating that Russia will constantly raise the natural gas price for Armenia, he said he wasn’t aware of that.
