YEREVAN. – Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan does not believe that the claim that the government has already made a decision on Amulsar operation is true.

“I have repeatedly stated that when making a decision on Amulsar, one must take into account both the environmental component, which is very important, the legal one, which is also important, and the economic one. The experts are working now, let's wait. With the combination of these three, I think the right decision will be made,” he told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Asked about economic benefits of Amulsar mine, Grigoryan pointed to “some positive economic impact”, but added that one should not make decisions based on the economic component only.

Mher Grigoryan did not answer the question whether he personally is for the operation of Amulsar mine.

“I will answer that question when I get to the three expert conclusions. I cannot say anything at the moment. But I can say for sure that the solution should have legal basis and not contradict the legislation,” he added.
