Georgian Interior Ministry mobilized a large number of police in the territory of the parliament as the opposition announced another rally, Sptunik-Georgia reported.

The approach to parliament, namely to the entrances to the building, is blocked by iron structures.

Leaders and activists of opposition parties have already begun to gather in front of the Georgian parliament on Rustaveli Avenue in order to once again create great discomfort for the MPs of the Georgian Dream ruling party. Protesters are also gathering at the Georgian MFA building, not far from parliament.

Protest rallies have not stopped in Tbilisi since November 14. The parliamentary election reform promised by the authorities failed. Due to the protest of the majority MPs from the ruling party, there were not enough votes to pass a bill on the transition from a mixed to a proportional system of parliamentary elections.

The opposition says the wave of protest will not stop until the authorities call early parliamentary elections on a proportional basis. The authorities say that they will no longer review the electoral law and elections will be held in 2020.

According to Georgian Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri, opposition people are trying to make the police to use force. So it was November 18, when the protesters, who were allowed to bring barrels and firewood to bask, and they began to throw these firewood at the ministry employees. Several policemen were injured. That is why during the rally on November 25, protesters were not allowed to bring these items.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs twice brought special forces to the parliament and used water cannons because the protesters blocked the entrances to the building. Despite the fact that the special forces only crowded out the protesters, several people were injured.
