YEREVAN. – The relatives of Yazidi soldier Artur Ajamyan, who was fatally wounded, have blocked Tigran Mets Avenue in downtown Yerevan, and sat on the road.
Ajamyan's relatives demand a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. According to them, the soldier was killed, but no objective investigation is carried out.
"I'll go on a hunger strike, too," the mother of the dead soldier said. “If I don't see you, then I'll stand at the [Republic] square, pour gasoline on me and set myself on fire. And everyone will answer for the second victim."
On December 2, soldier Artur Ajamyan (born in 1998) sustained a fatal gunshot wound, whereas fellow serviceman Davit Melikbekyan (born in 1999) was wounded at a military unit of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army.
A criminal case has been opened in connection with this case.
An investigation is underway.
