Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia Suren Papikyan, who is on a two-day working visit to Georgia, met with Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili, reports the news service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.

During the meeting, the officials particularly touched upon the effective implementation of the plan for construction of a new bridge in the area near the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border checkpoint located on Debed River.

At the outset of the meeting, Georgia’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili expressed gratitude to Minister Papikyan for the visit and noted that such high-level contacts provide the opportunity to further strengthen the growing relations.

Minister Papikyan expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and special attitude and attached importance to the harmonization of infrastructure projects contributing to regional development and the deepening of trade and economic relations with a common agenda.

Minister Papikyan talked about the plan for construction of a Friendship Bridge to be built on Debed River (in the area near the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border checkpoint), drew his colleagues’ attention to the course of implementation of the design works and underscored the need to intensify engagement and accelerate the approval of the project.
