Turkey aspires to expand the geography of the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and move it to the sovereign territory of Armenia. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan declared during a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias.

“This meeting is taking place at a time when our compatriots in Artsakh are facing an existential threat. I would like to express special gratitude to my Greek counterpart for visiting Armenia at this important moment and expressing solidarity with the Armenian people,” he said, adding that the region has clashed with Turkey’s Pan-Turkish policy.

“Ankara is supporting Baku not only through the direct participation of the military, but also through mercenaries. Despite the statement on a ceasefire adopted in Moscow, Azerbaijan continues its military operations, striking in the direction of Armenia. It is clear that Turkey is behind all this, but Azerbaijan’s military-political leadership will bear full responsibility for the consequences. More than 32 peaceful civilians have been killed, 106 have been injured and 86 have been severely wounded as a result of the aggressor’s large-scale genocidal policy. Since October 10, 6 peaceful civilians have been killed, 4 civilians have been executed by saboteurs, and 2 have been killed as a result of shelling,” the minister informed.

According to Mnatsakanyan, Azerbaijan’s war crimes have been documented, including the scenes of murders of prisoners of war released on the Internet yesterday. “Aliyev has agreed to turn his country into a zone of influence of Turkey and a base for terrorists in order to maintain power. This is part of Turkey’s policy, and the consequences can be seen in Syria, Libya, Iraq and now in the South Caucasus,” he said and affirmed Armenia’s position on the situation in the Mediterranean and expressed unconditional support to Cyprus and Greece.
