A Baku court has "detained" in absentia Armenia’s former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, against whom a criminal case was filed under the Azerbaijani criminal code article on "genocide."

On November 11, the Military Court of Baku had considered the respective lawsuit and remanded Ohanyan in custody in absentia.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities—which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
