The World Health Organization opposes the introduction of immune passports for people who have already received a COVID-19 vaccine after the start of mass vaccination of the population, Dr Catherine Smallwood, Senior Emergency Officer, WHO Regional Office for Europe told a briefing on Thursday.

According to her, the WHO recommendations have not changed, and they do not recommend the introduction of immune passports, as well as testing at airports as a measure to prevent the transmission of the virus across borders.

We encourage countries to look at data on transmission of the virus both within their own territory and abroad and issue travel recommendations based on this, she said.

According to her, to monitor the future mass vaccination of people against COVID-19, WHO intends to create an interactive online map, similar to the one that the organization currently has and shows the virus infections around the world, RIA Novosti reported.
