- Iranian FM Mohammad Javad Zarif has arrived in Armenia within his regional visit.
Earlier, Zarif was first in Azerbaijan, then in Russia. Visits to Georgia and Turkey are also scheduled.
Tête-à-tête meeting of the Armenian and Iranian FMs - Ara Aivazian and Mohammad Javad Zarif - commenced Wednesday.
According to the Armenian FM, Iran is an important country in the region.
"Armenia does not consider that the results of Azerbaijan's aggression and use of force against Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] can create a basis for lasting peace, or be viewed as an opportunity for regional cooperation," Aivazian said.
According to the Karabakh emergency service, these soldiers were reservists.
To date, 1,318 such bodies have been retrieved, 15 of which, according to preliminary data, are of civilians, whereas the rest are of servicemen, reservists, or volunteers who participated in the recent hostilities.
- The Russian servicemen, who will be part of the Russian-Turkish joint center for monitoring the ceasefire and cessation of hostilities’ at the Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] conflict zone, are undergoing training and getting ready to leave for Azerbaijan, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
This joint monitoring center will be located in Azerbaijan, in accordance with the memorandum signed by the Russian and Turkish defense ministers on November 11, 2020.
- Armenia legislature will hold a special session on February 3.
The issue was among the unreported issues of Wednesday’s Cabinet meeting of the government.
Several issues will be on the agenda of this parliament's session.
Accordingly, as per Tuesday’s decree of the Russian government, citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union member states can enter Russia from February 1 to March 1, inclusive, from Armenia or Belarus via air checkpoints at the Russian state border, provided that they submit valid documents proving their identity, as well as a negative coronavirus test result, according to the press service of the Russian embassy in Armenia.
- Man wanted in Yerevan keeps 3-year-old son with him, threatens to hurt him, also fires gunshots.
On Wednesday morning, police officers visited one of the mansions in Yerevan. Seeing the police officers, the man fired gunshots into the air, after which he kept his 3-year-old son with him and threatened to hurt him, if he was apprehended.
Ghazaryan negotiated with the armed man for nearly two hours, after which the man put the gun down and released the child. The wanted man was apprehended and charged. There are no victims. A preliminary investigation is underway.
Of course, there is no word about the real name of this monastery in the Azerbaijani media, which reports on the start of construction, and it is referred to as the Keshikchidag Reserve.
Georgia and Azerbaijan are disputing the territorial affiliation of the David Gareja Monastery, and there have even been several respective incidents in the past.
At present, an unregulated part of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border passes through this monastery.
