Citizens holding a rally with the demand for shift of power and police officers clashed in front of the government building today.

Armenian News-NEWS.am’s correspondent reports that the participants of the rally who were gathered in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office declared that they were moving towards the government building.

“We’re coming to liberate the government building from enemies and are inviting everyone who is ready to assume governance of the country. To those people we say you must come and assume temporary governance,” head of the Armenian National Guard NGO, freedom fighter Arshak Zakaryan said.

The situation became tense when citizens tried to enter the government building. With shields in their hands, a number of police officers aren’t letting them enter the building.
