In December, the first President of Armenia declared that his statement is still in effect, that is, the country needs to provide political solutions in order to dodge clashes, and there is still an opportunity for that. This is what member of the Armenian National Congress political party Aram Manukyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am near the statue of Alexander Myasnikyan today.

“Armenia has a parliament that can adopt any decision that may provide a solution and settle the issue. This is necessary for not only elections or shift of power, but also for the country to be predictable. This is the only necessary and urgent solution. The Armenian National Congress political party has proposed a solution, that is, there have to be political solutions since there might be clashes and shootings,” Manukyan said and assured that the political party doesn’t support any side.

In response to a specifying question if the political party believes there is a need for snap elections, Manukyan said the following: “The authorities have to decide. Either the Prime Minister resigns, or the country holds snap elections. This has to be done while it’s still possible.”
