The President of Armenia has to be consistent, keep on moving forward and apply to the Constitutional Court with regard to the dismissal of the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces; otherwise, the army and the people won’t let the government and President do their job. This is what member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaktsutyun political party Artsvik Minasyan said during today’s rally held by the opposition Homeland Salvation Movement on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue in Yerevan.

“The army and the people will restrict their activities because they will be anti-national activities. This is a fundamental issue. The people have stood up with the army and are protecting statehood. This isn’t just about Onik Gasparyan. This is about the entire Armenian army.

In the legal sense, the President of Armenia can’t be inactive without justification. The law prescribes that either the President signs or applies to the Constitutional Court. There is no third option. The third option would be inaction,” he said.
