During the last few days, the search for the person who was considered missing as a result of the explosion in the Surmalu shopping market in Yerevan on August 14 was carried out at the place of the probable explosion where, according to the information, this person was probably at. Hayk Kostanyan, spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia, noted about this on Facebook Wednesday morning.

"Detailed search operations were carried out in the epicenter of the explosion and in the entire nearby area—even twice in some areas. As a result of the search operations, unfortunately, the citizen's body or the latter’s remains were not found.

I would like to note that within 43 hours after the caused fire and explosion, the rescue workers brought out 26 citizens—including 10 alive and 16 dead—from the rubble.

Thus, at the session of the expanded headquarters, a decision was made to stop the search operations," Kostanyan added.
