Simultaneously with the Armenian Prime Minister's visit to Tehran, Azerbaijan's State Security Service in an unproductive move announced the arrest of members of an armed group allegedly affiliated with Iran, publishing false and outdated information, IRNA writes.

Iran has a clear position on the South Caucasus and stresses that border changes are a red line and tensions should only be resolved with the involvement of the countries of the region, the publication said. In this regard Iran offered a "3+3" format to resolve the disagreements between Baku and Yerevan, but "the extra-regional interference and enmity of the Zionist regime (Israel - Ed.) with Iran and its influence on the government in Baku led the officials of that country to the point of not perceiving a clear message from Tehran and even in some cases to act contrary to the interests of the region."

Nevertheless, in order to de-escalate the situation, Iran invited the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to Tehran.

President Ilham Aliyev was also invited to visit Tehran, but due to Baku's delays the visit has not yet taken place.

Based on this, one gets the impression that the statement of the Azerbaijani State Security Service is a nervous reaction to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Tehran.

The Azerbaijani State Security Service published a statement claiming that it was investigating a group of Azerbaijani citizens who were allegedly with the Iranian secret service, which was engaged in their military training and financing.

Repeating its false claims, the State Security Service once again announced a warrant for the arrest in absentia of several individuals accused of leading a secret and illegal armed group in 2018.
