According to the customs fees paid and received in the Eurasian Economic Union budget since mid-2021, Armenia has the status of a donor, Armenian Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan said on Thursday at the joint session of the parliamentary committees at the National Assembly.

In this regard, the minister noted, the Union budget will need to be redistributed in the near future. "Discussions are going on. Our Prime Minister mentioned at the EEU meeting that it will be necessary to ensure the revision of the Union's budget allocation in the near future. In fact, being a small country, we are quite a big donor. So there was a need to find a way for a more equitable distribution," explained Kerobyan.

Armenia, according to him, has activated its own programs in the EEU. That is, it shows more initiative and tries to enhance its role in the structure. According to the head of the Ministry of Economy, Armenia's increased role and reputation in the EEU is visible to the naked eye. "In many issues, Armenia's proposals become decisive. Many people listen to them. Our role in the Eurasian Economic Union is increasing," the representative of the government assured.

Moreover, efforts are also being made to include Armenian companies' products in the Eurasian Register of Industrial Goods.
