The influx of migrants to Armenia is mainly represented by citizens of EEU countries, in particular, the Russian Federation. Irina Davtyan, deputy head of the Migration Service of the Republic of Armenia, stated this at a meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on state and legal issues in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

According to the official, this allows them to take advantage of the simplified regime for the implementation of labor activities. "Migrants from the EAEU countries don't need any documents for work permits. They and their family members can stay in Armenia only on the basis of a labor contract. Russian citizens submit to the Migration Service platform workpermit.am their labor contract, their identity document and on this basis they receive a certificate confirming the legality of their residence," explained Davtyan.

In the future migrants will have to participate in the process of obtaining the appropriate card.

The Deputy Head of the Migration Service also said that the issue of simplifying the procedure of granting a residence permit in Armenia for more than 183 days to EEU citizens who do not have a labor contract is being discussed now.
