The UN Security Council meeting on the latest missile launches by the DPRK will be held on Monday, a source in the world organization told TASS on Sunday.

According to his data, the meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said that Japan requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the missile launches by North Korea.

Japan's Defense Ministry earlier reported that North Korea launched two ballistic missiles Monday morning from its west coast area that flew 350 and 400 kilometers at maximum flight altitudes of 50 and 100 kilometers, respectively.

On Feb. 18, Pyongyang launched an intercontinental ballistic missile, the Hwasong-15, which went down in Japan's exclusive economic zone, 200 kilometers west of the northern island of Hokkaido. Kim Yo-jeong, the sister of the DPRK leader, issued a warning to the United States and South Korea in a statement released on February 19, noting that Pyongyang is watching every action of its enemies and will respond to every hostile act with extreme vigor.
