Armenia will submit objections to the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) regarding the launching of criminal prosecutions against the two Armenian servicemen abducted by Azerbaijan. Yeghishe Kirakosyan, the representative of Armenia for international legal affairs, told Armenian News-NEWS.am about this.

He noted that the Armenian side was currently studying the documents submitted by Azerbaijan to the ECtHR regarding these two captured Armenian soldiers.

"The ECtHR has given the Armenian side time until June 16 to present their positions," Kirakosyan added.

As reported earlier, on May 26, contact with two Armenian soldiers supplying food to combat positions was lost. On the next day, their food supply car was found on the inter-positional road, in which was also the weapon of one of these servicemen. On the same day, it became known that they were abducted by Azerbaijanis. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia publicized the names of these soldiers. They are Harutyun Hovagimyan and Karen Ghazaryan.

Armenia has petitioned to the Strasbourg Court, with a request to apply an interim measure against Azerbaijan due to the latter’s abduction of these two Armenian soldiers.
