Zhanna Andreasyan, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, received Iranian Ambassador Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the Ministry Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The minister thanked the ambassador for his efforts in strengthening Armenian-Iranian relations and increasing the effectiveness of cooperation during his tenure, and wished him success in his future work.

During the meeting, Andreasyan reaffirmed the readiness of her ministry to continue assisting in the development and deepening of Armenian-Iranian friendly relations in the fields of education, science, culture, sports and youth.

Reflecting on the programs being jointly implemented with Iran, the minister highlighted the importance of this country's assistance in the expansion of the program of deepening the teaching of Farsi language in public education institutions of Armenia, which contributes to increasing the effectiveness of teaching this language in Armenia’s schools.

Reaffirming the willingness to continue the joint programs, the minister spoke about the continuity and development of the existing programs.

Ambassador Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri, for his part, emphasized that the Iranian side is ready to expand the scope of cooperation with Armenia. He noted that collaboration especially in education and culture is one of the important directions.

The parties discussed a number of matters related to further strengthening of relations between Armenia and Iran in the fields of education, science, culture, sports and youth, as well as the expansion and development of cooperation agenda in various domains.
