The placement and decoration of the main Christmas tree on Republic Square will be completed by Dec. 27, Yerevan City Hall representative Sasun Hambardzumyan informed NEWS.am.

It will be standing there till January 13, 2010. This year’s tree is 3 meters shorter than the one last year. It will comprise of 4500-5000 pines, cut during the sanitary felling. Strikingly, this year the placement works started earlier than usually – the metal core was set up on Dec. 2.
