Armenia’s first president, Chairman of the Armenian National Movement (ANC) Levon Ter-Petrosyan held a meeting with mission members, Armenia-EU human rights dialogue headed by Sweden's Human Rights Ambassador Jan Nordlander.

The sides discussed the human rights situation in Armenia, domestic political processes and obstacles to democratization. The sides dwelt on the activities of the ad hoc commission set up to investigate the tragic events on March 1, 2008, as well as of the fact-finding expert group dissolved by the Armenian authorities. Ter-Petrosyan stressed that political prisoners in Armenia are an obstacle to the country’s natural development.

The ANC leader also outlined the ANC’s position on the main foreign-policy issues.
