An Armenian delegation headed by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in the 24th sitting of the EurAsEC Interstate Committee in Saint Petersburg.
The Information and Public Relations Department, RA Government, told NEWS.am that the Armenian delegation includes Head of the RA Government Staff David Sargsyan, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan, RA Deputy Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan, RA Deputy Minister of Economy Mushegh Tumasyan, RA Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Artashes Avetisyan, and other officials.
The sitting agenda included 20 issues. Armenia has an observer status at EurAsEC.
The Armenian delegation visited the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, participated in the sitting of the Interstate Council of Heads of Government, which was followed by an enlarged meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, RF Prime Minister Vladimir Putin pointed out that the cooperation within EurAsEC has produced positive results in overcoming the financial crisis. He also pointed out the progress in forming a customs union and common economic environment.
The meeting also discussed the approval of an interstate program of Innovation Information Technologies, the fundamental principles of the EurAsEC member-states’ monetary policy, education and accreditation cooperation agreements, and the concept of food security. The premiers present at the meeting made speeches.
Late this evening the Armenian delegation is to return to Yerevan.
